After a brave battle with
cancer, our dear friend, Joe Adams (Adamo) passed away on Tuesday, April 8,
2008. Joe was a driving force behind this Sneak Peek Studio Tour and his
friendship and experience as an artist will be greatly missed by all of us.
His legacy will live on in his beautiful oil paintings, his
poetry and fiction and his studio/gallery will be part of the 2009 tour.
ADAMO
(b. 1931,
Brooklyn,
NY), a classical realist, produces insightful oil paintings noted for their
tranquility and luminosity. Included in
Who's Who in American Art
(1962), he has maintained studios in California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and
Virginia in his 70+ year art career. His works took top awards in Northern
Virginia at Fairfax County Council of the Arts exhibits and were displayed
in Washington, D.C., and Virginia galleries. Since moving to Painter on
Virginia's Eastern Shore in 1989, he exhibits primarily in the mid-Atlantic
region. His works are in many private collections in North America, Europe,
and Asia.
