once viewed
art as essentially a commercial occupation. Her degree in Design and
Communication in 1996 at the Ichthus Polytechnic in Rotterdam started her
off as a graphic artist in a fast-paced job in an advertising agency. In the
summer of 2000 her move to the Eastern Shore changed her view of life and of
art. She studied oil painting with Adamo and raised the level of her work to
a new creative and technical level. The technique of glazing transparent
layers of oil paint on top of an underpainting give her work a
three-dimensional vibrancy. With a distinct ‘handwriting,’ she captures the
natural beauty of her subject matter.
