Mary Ann clarke
(b. 1935,
Rochester,
PA) studied with internationally known watercolorists Frank Webb, Zoltan
Szabo, and Ray Loos after she graduated from Pennsylvania’s Indiana
University with a degree in art education. For forty years she taught
drawing and watercolor painting, and her techniques have been described in
various art publications over the years (including
The Artists Magazine
and
Watercolor Magic).
She moved to Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore in 1993. She feels deeply
about the relationship of original fine art to the community; therefore she
feels it is important to continue to teach painting and drawing. Although
she has explored others, watercolor will always be her medium of choice. She
paints from her own visual experiences the things and places that affect her
life.
