A Theme Exhibit at the Barrier Islands Center, stop #4
The Barrier Islands Center, located on the Almshouse Farm in Machipongo, is dedicated to preserving the culture and history of the people who used to inhabit the now abandoned barrier islands off the Eastern Shore Peninsula. How fitting, therefore, that the artists of this year’s annual Sneak Peek Studio Tour have chosen this location for their theme exhibit entitled “Waterways”. The “water” theme delighted both the two and three dimensional artists, as they were able to produce works depicting a wide variety of elements representative of their beautiful and unique Eastern Shore Peninsula. This special exhibit brings works of all the Sneak Peek artists together at one location, giving viewers a comparative demonstration of each artist’s approach to the handling of similar content. “Waterways” will be on display at the Barrier Islands Center concurrent with the Sneak Peek Studio Tour, and will remain open until April 30 during their regular business hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. ![]() |
