RYAN DOCKIEWICZ (b. 1974, Virginia Beach, VA) began carving in 1992, using many of the techniques of local decoy carvers who made rigs for hunters in the early 20th century. In 1996 he moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia and began his career in wood sculpture. Named Carver of the Year by the Richmond Chapter of Ducks Unlimited in 2003 and Carver of the Year 2006 by the Eastern Shore Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, he creates one-of-a-kind pieces without the use of duplication machines or standard blanks. His wood sculptures are in collections all over the United States and in Europe.
